WORKPLACE SAFETY TRAINING
Shaw Ship Management has developed an Accident Prevention / Workplace Safety program that is highly relevant for offshore construction, shipyard and port employees
This can be carried out by our experienced safety officer as a one off training session, or can be the basis of a continuous safety awareness program. Presentations are carried out on site, and are visually stimulating thus catering for all levels of literacy, with emphasis placed on hazard identification and human factor.
The basic contents of the program can be found below, but we prefer to work closely with the client’s safety officer in order to ensure that the contents are specific to the individual workplace.
Our safety officer training can be modified to suit both seagoing and land based safety officers, and covers topics such as, risk assessments, implementing and managing a permit to work system, conducting effective training and drills, and root cause analysis / accident investigation methodology. For sea going safety officers we also focus on the SOLAS requirements for the testing and maintenance of shipboard safety and firefighting equipment.
We can also offer SETA accredited First Aid and Fire Marshall training which is carried out by experienced medics.
